Co-Founder and Designer
Born and raised in Monrovia, Liberia, David is a living example of striving for the “American Dream”. Prior to moving to the United States, he spent several years in Liberia and the Ivory Coast living with his single mother at a time of war. At a later age, David’s father was fortunate enough to help move him to the United States.
His sense of fashion flourished as he first modeled in his early 20s. Quickly, David’s natural sense of style took over and he became a referral magnet for several major online shopping websites. It dawned on him in 2012 that he could realistically create a product far superior than the brands he was representing, so he started to re-engineer the process. He envisioned a line that speaks volumes to the character and style of a successful gentleman.
David graduated in 2008 with a B.S. in Information Systems from St. Cloud State University.

Manly Collections came to fruition when Eric Hartter and David Manly met at a client site in Minneapolis, Minnesota in late 2014. David complimented one of Eric’s jackets and they quickly grew admiration for one another’s ambition and style. Shortly after, they met for dinner so David could walk through his vision, Eric bit, and the two worked tirelessly to create what today is Manly Collections.
Eric’s background is in management consulting where he has spent the past 7+ years working with banking executives on their most daunting projects and transformations. He specializes in strategic process optimization, which has helped Manly Collections create some of the best quality garments in the world at a consumer friendly price. Eric attained his B.B.A. in Accounting and Finance at the University of Iowa’s Tippie College of Business in December of 2010.
